Dec 15, 2015 (newstodate): The list of airlines with plans for launching flights to Iceland in 2016 keeps growing - with a Latvian carrier as the latest newcomer.
Starting from May 28, 2016, airBaltic will be introducing flights from Riga to Keflavik, offering two weekly rotations with Boeing 737-300 aircraft that will require slightly more than four hour in the air.
Besides the point-to-point traffic, the new route will also offer transfer options to and from airBaltic's network and Iceland.
Like airBaltic, other carriers with a new taste for Iceland in 2016 include the Czech carrier CSA that plans to offer two weekly rotations between Prague and Keflavik Airport during the period June 16 to September 19, 2016, the Spanish carrier Iberia that will launch traffic between Madrid and Keflavik starting from June 18, 2016, while among even more others the charter airline Germania will be offering flights between Bremen and Friedrichshafen in Germany and Keflavik, on Iceland, during the summer season starting June 11, as the fourth German airline targeting Iceland.
