Dec 08, 2015 (newstodate): The handling company Aviator has landed another fresh contract at London Gatwick with a new African carrier.
Starting from December 11, 2015, Aviator will be handling the two weekly flights by Sierra Leone's Fly Salone at London Gatwick Airport.
Fly Salone, with Sam Sabrah as Managing Director, will operate flights on the route between Freetown, in Sierra Leone, and London Gatwick, initially operating a Boeing 757-200 aircraft leased from Icelandair.
After being declared again free of Ebola, the flight ban by the UK CAA covering Sierra Leone was lifted only on December 3, 2015, allowing Fly Salone to set up the new flights.
On November 3, 2015, Aviator also announced a new contract to provide handling of the Nigerian carrier MedView Airlines that launched services with four weekly rotations on a new route between Lagos and London Gatwick starting from November 20, 2015, using Boeing 767 aircraft.
After Aviator's acquisition of Swissport International's ground handling operations at London Gatwick, taking effect from November 9, 2015, the Scandinavian handling company will become the largest ground handling services provider at London Gatwick in terms of turnover and customer portfolio.
