Dec 11, 2015 (newstodate): The publication of the latest revised edition of the EU Air Safety List is good tidings for Kazakhstan.
The leading carrier, Air Astana has finally been lifted off the list where it has been placed since 2009.
Air Astana is now free to operate into EU airports with all aircraft in its fleet and may open flights on new routes into EU markets.
All 19 other Kazakh air carriers certified by the authorities with responsibility for regulatory oversight of Kazakhstan remain, however, on the list.
One exception is, however, the new Kazakh carrier Qazaq Air that does not plan to launch flights into EU markets.
Also on the latest EU list are all airlines in Kyrgyzstan, and Iran Air still remains barred from operating into the EU with own aircraft on Iranian registration.
