Dec 10, 2015 (newstodate): The ACMI carrier Air Atlanta Icelandic has taken over one ex-Air France Boeing 747-400 aircraft on December 9, 2015.
Air France is to phase out the aircraft type from its fleet, with the last Boeing 747-400 flight scheduled for January 16, 2016.
In the fleet of Air France are now three similar Boeing 747-400 aircraft operated on a lease from IFLC, and unconfirmed expectations are that Air Atlanta may also take over these aircraft.
If so, plans may be to convert the passenger aircraft to freighters.
