Nov 13, 2015 (newstodate): Warsaw Chopin Airport that accounts for some 70 percent of all air cargo through Polish airport is seeing brisk growth in cargo volumes in 2015, with an increase by six percent, y-o-y.
A total of 43,023 tonnes of cargo was handled during January-September 2015 at the airport, including imports that accounted for 23,700 tonnes, up 5.1 percent, y-o-y, and exports that were 19,300 tonnes, up 7.1 percent, y-o-y.
The most important cargo destinations to and from Warsaw were the DHL hub at Leipzig with 5,968 tonnes, UPS's hub at Cologne with 5,366 tonnes, New York 4,376 tonnes, Dubai 4,374 tonnes, and Chicago with 4,188 tonnes.
The bulk of the cargo was carried by airlines LOT with 16,200 tonnes, UPS Airlines with 6,800 tonnes, European Air Transport lifting 6,000 tonnes for DHL, Emirates with 4,400 tonnes, and TNT with 2,200 tonnes.
