Nov 25, 2015 (newstodate): On September 8, 2015, Aviator and the SAS Group signed a LoI announcing acquisition talks between Aviator and SGH in Scandinavia - and since then the process has been effectively curtailed.
The LoI grants Aviator the exclusive right to work during the "autumn period" towards reaching a final agreement with SAS on the transaction.
With winter arriving, the question remains: when will "autumn" end?
-We have not set any fixed date for concluding the negotiations as a large business deal like this is extremely complex, involving a wide range of issues to be solved, says Andreas Vassilaros, Aviator Project Director.
-As long as both parties are agreed that there are grounds for continued discussions, the process will proceed, and the fact that we have not announced a stop to the talks can be taken as proof that the process in indeed continuing - and at full speed.
The LoI states that Aviator Airport Alliance Europe aims at taking over SAS Ground Handling's operations at the major Scandinavian airports Oslo Gardemoen, Copenhagen, Arlanda, Malm and Gothenburg.
The proposed deal does not, however, include the cargo handling company Spirit Air Cargo Handling.
