Nov 02, 2015 (newstodate): According to Russian sources, Swissport Russia has - at least temporarily - suspended handling services at Moscow Vnukovo Airport.
Behind the decision is reportedly a dispute between the partners behind Swissport Russia, and it is not clear at this moment when, or if, operations may be resumed.
Swissport Russia was set up on May 31, 2013, as a JV between Swissport and the Moscow Vnukovo-based handling company "Servis-VS" that handles some 130 foreign and Russian carriers, including now-defunct Transaero, generating about 100,000 flights per year.
The first Russian station by Swissport Russia was Vnukovo Airport from May, 2013, followed by the addition of Russia's Archangelsk Talagi Airport from May 2014.
Among the airline customers served by Swissport Russia at Vnukovo Airport is the Aeroflot LCC subsidiary Pobeda that performed its first flight on December 1, 2014, and among other customers is also Mahan Air from summer 2015.
