Nov 17, 2015 (newstodate): The Kazakh carrier SCAT has successfully obtained its IOSA certification after years of preparation.
With the certification, the carrier now hopes to evade the current ban on Kazakh carrier into EU airports by the EU Commission that holds all Kazakh carriers, except certain of the aircraft of Air Astana, on its list.
Kazakhstan's aviation authority requires all Kazakh airlines in scheduled flights to become IOSA certified from January 2016.
SCAT currently operates operates a fleet of 32 aircraft including eight Boeing 737 and 757 and six Bombardier aircraft and will take delivery of the first of 15 new Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft from May 2016.
