Nov 27, 2015 (newstodate): The Russian charter and scheduled carrier Nordwind has been granted license to add flights to a spree of new destinations as part of the reorganization of Russia's air services after the demise of Transaero.
Nordwind Airlines was founded in August 2008 by the Russian and Turkish branches of tour operator Pegasus Touristik and operates a fleet now comprising 25 aircraft including nine Airbus A320 Family aircraft, five Boeing 737 and 11 wide-body long-haul aircraft Boeing 767 and 777.
Eight new routes may now be opened from Moscow, 13 from St Petersburg and two from Urfa.
New destinations include nine in China, and Nordwind will also be allowed to fly to among others Cologne and to Los Angeles.
