Nov 20, 2015 (newstodate): Norway's seafood export logistics is historically dominated by less than a handful of specialized forwarders. This has, however, not scared N&K Spedition from entering the competition.
The Danish forwarding company N&K Spedition set up a Norwegian subsidiary in 2007 and a further off-shot of this, N&%K Air Solutions was established by June 1, 2015, aiming at offering new service concepts to the booming Norwegian seafood export industries.
-We have been working with seafood companies for eight years now, accumulating rich experience and developing close relations with the players in the market, says Martin Schlander, N&K Norway.
-Based on this we have identified a wish among many exporters for a unified solution to their logistics needs, integrating transportation from the production sites to the airport with the air transport of the shipments, securing full command along the entire process from door to door, so to speak, and at the levels of quality that pertains to these sensitive shipments.
-Some of the largest exporters do speak directly with the airlines bypassing forwarders entirely, but in most cases a forwarder is involved. Our selling point is the full integration of all elements in the entire chain of logistics through one entry-point and with one invoice covering all services.
-We are still new in this field but have completed our first assignments already and the reception in the market is boding well for our concept. Now, the first challenge is to build a critical mass to serve as the basis for more offerings and solutions to follow in the future as business grows, says Mr Schlander.
From the start, N&K Air Solution is manned by airfreight managers Tarjei Brox Linde and Lars Haugen fully dedicated to sales and marketing supported by full administrative back-up from N&K Norway with 14 staff.
N&K Spedition also operates a terminal at Padborg in Denmark, close to the border with Germany, fully certified to handling of airfreight.
