Nov 19, 2015 (newstodate): Positive results from the first two months of flights by Beijing Capital Airlines to Copenhagen have now led to an extension of the flights program.
The carrier performed its first flight on September 3, 2015, and since then Beijing Capital Airlines offered one weekly flight with Airbus A330-200 aircraft from Hangzhou and Beijing, respectively, to Copenhagen carrying Chinese tourists on package tours sold only by the Chinese tour operator Caissa Touristic.
The company has now decided to extend the program in 2016 to seven months, bringing a total of over 11,000 Chinese passengers visiting the country.
The flights to Copenhagen are the first international operations by Beijing Capital Airlines.
The carrier is also considering the opening of a similar series of flights from China to Helsinki, in Finland, and Finavia confirms to newstodate that negotiations have been conducted to facilitate these operations.
