Nov 18, 2015 (newstodate): Lufthansa is readying to launch flights on a new route to Lapland, in Finland.
With the first flight slated for December 19, 2015, Lufthansa will be operating on the route between Munich and Kittila Airport, above the Arctic Circle.
This route will provide the first scheduled operations to Lapland comprising regions in Finland, Sweden, and Norway from Central Europe, and will be opening new markets and European connections to a market which is currently only provided by charter operations or transfer flights via Helsinki Airport.
Already now booking figures are promising, and may warrant operations with Airbus A321 aircraft.
