Nov 12, 2015 (newstodate): Kyrgyzstan is keen to be lifted off the EU Commission's Black List that prohibits Kyrgyz carriers from operating into EU airports.
Fresh hopes are now pinned in a forthcoming inspection by ICAO in January 2016 that will assess improvements in the country's aviation and airport businesses.
Kyrgyzstan claims that its rate of conformity to international aviation standards is now 63 percent, compared to a world average of 61 percent.
The last ICAO audit in summer 2014 produced 20 recommendations to be implemented by Kyrgyzstan - and this will now be monitored.
All 18 carriers registered in Kyrgyzstan are on EU's blacklist and thus barred from operating into EU airports.
