Nov 30, 2015 (newstodate): Finnair cargo and its IAG partner is taking a prolonged time-out in December with the shared freighter service between Helsinki and London Luton airport.
Launched on September 15, 2015, and set up to perform two weekly rotations with an Airbus A300-600 freighter aircraft from DHL Aviation, the freighter service is to operate only two rotations in December 2015, on the 9. and 19., respectively.
All other December flights are suspended, forcing Santa Claus to feed his reindeer well to secure Christmas parcels this year.
So far ,the flights on January 2. and 6, 2016, are also suspended.
With the opening of the freighter service, Finnair Cargo added London as its third cargo hub, after the main hub at Helsinki, and Brussels that was opened in April 2013 to serve not least the pharma industries.
