Nov 09, 2015 (newstodate): Finnair reports a total of 12,654 tonnes of cargo carried on passenger and freighter aircraft in October 2015.
This represents a drop by 2.5 percent, y-o-y, in October and a decline by 13.8 percent during January-October 2015 where totals are now 108,045 tonnes.
In October volumes on the Asian sector were unchanged, up 0.1 percent to 7,594 tonnes while N America was up no less than 37.5 percent to 748 tonnes, and the European segment increased by 11.5 percent to 2,442 tonnes.
Over-all, cargo on scheduled passenger traffic was up 4.6 percent, to 10,958 tonnes in October.
Starting from September 15, 2015, Finnair is sharing capacity on an Airbus A300-600 freighter service with IAG Cargo between Helsinki and London Luton Airport offering two weekly rotations.
On the other hand, Finnair Cargo stopped its MD-11F freighter services from the start of the year, while purchasing the cargo capacity on the daily JAL passenger service between Helsinki and Tokyo.
