Nov 12, 2015 (newstodate): Finavia is happy with Finnair's decision to launch flights to is second destination in Denmark - Billund Airport.
The carrier will start flights on the route between Helsinki and Billund from April 4, 2015, offering a daily rotation with Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft offering limited cargo capacity.
-Billund has long been on the wishing-list of Finavia as the airport is located in Denmark's western region housing most of the country's industrial and exporting companies, says Timo Jarvela, Finavia Head of Accounts and Route Development.
-We are confident that the new route will further enhance the attraction of Helsinki Airport as an efficient transfer point for flights to Asian destinations, boosting the volumes of Danish business travelers.
-Jutland and western Denmark was long among the coveted regions without direct access to Helsinki and Finnair's long-haul flights, and this is now about to change, says Mr Jarvela.
