Nov 24, 2015 (newstodate): easyJet has again confirmed its insatiable appetite for flights to Iceland.
The carrier has opened up a new route between Keflavik and London Stansted served twice-weekly from this winter.
easyJet thus adds this latest UK destination to its Icelandic offerings already comprising flights to London Gatwick, London Luton, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester and Belfast.
With this intensive flights program, the carrier ranks #3 with eight percent of all traffic at Keflavik after Icelandair that still accounts for 65 percent of all passengers through Keflavik Airport and #2 WOW Air with 17 percent.
easyJet first launched flights to Keflavik on March 26, 2012, with three weekly Airbus A320 rotations on the route from London Luton Airport, initially on a seasonal basis that was, however, soon firmed up to become a year-round service.
