Nov 17, 2015 (newstodate): Instrumental in bringing about the contract between DAT and the Portuguese carrier EverJets, the Danish aircraft broker Blackbird sees good prospects for the cooperation.
-EverJets has just launched flights on November 14, 2015, on the route from Oporto to Funchal, returning from Funchal to Lisbon, and we are confident that this will build up successfully, says Ole Christiansen, Blackbird.
-While it takes time to build up passenger volumes on a new route, we are happy to see that air cargo is playing a role right from the start adding to the profitability. EverJets is a carrier that has obviously done its homework well, is well connected with the local government on Madeira, and already now the airline is planning for new business activities in 2016 proving that they have the competencies required to grow, says Mr Christiansen.
As part of the process, EverJets and DAT are now considering various forms of continued cooperation beyond the current ACMI contract that provides one Airbus A320 aircraft for a six-months period.
