Nov 12, 2015 (newstodate): -I am more than happy with the strategic partnership with Airbroker, announced yesterday, says Kim Borgaard, Chapman Freeborn Regional Sales Manager Nordic.
-Through this partnership we will get an even better grip on the Norwegian cargo market, benefiting from Airbroker's strong local position and intimate knowledge of the market and its players.
-Our prime focus is on the needs for air cargo transport in the Norwegian oil & gas sector that, even during these rather difficult times with global recession, low prices and diminished investments, is still large and requiring ongoing support as to spares, equipment and other commodities.
-While the impressive Norwegian salmon exports are probably well served by existing commercial carriers at Oslo Airport, there may still be potentials in other parts of the seafood industry with king crab exports as one example. This high-value production is located in Norways northernmost regions with a demanding infrastructure requiring air transport and we may find some openings here, says Mr Borgaard.
As earlier reported by newstodate, one significant exporter of king crabs is Cape Fish that trucks its shipment of live crabs into Lakselv Banak Airport for uplift by AN-12 freighters to Oslo Gardermoen Airport where they are lifted by Asiana and Korean Air Cargo to South Korea and beyond.
