Nov 18, 2015 (newstodate): More details on the planned start of a new low-cost carrier VA Airways operating out of Denmark are now available.
-VA Airways is a new start-up airline venture, our company is currently in the formative stage and our head office is currently based in London, UK. We are aiming to launch our schedule shortly, says Thomas Wrigley, VA Airways CEO in a mail responding to an inquiry by newstodate.
-Bookings on VA Airways flights will soon be available via our website, and VA Airways shall be chartering one Airbus A320 seating 180 passengers for our summer schedule, with a launch date currently slated for May 1, 2016.
-VA Airways' first base shall be located at Billund airport in Denmark, but at this present time we are in contact with all the airports we plan to serve during the summer season, says Mr Wrigley.
According to its website, VA Airways plans to provide flights from Billund Airport to eight destination in the summer season of 2016, and increasing to nine destinations in the winter season.
Destinations currently displayed are Geneva, Helsinki, Lanzarote, Larnaca, Madrid, Nurnberg, Palanga, and Zurich as well as Innsbruck and Salzburg during the winter seasons.
The capital will be raised through crowd funding under a scheme offering a series of rewards based on size of investment - and return of the investment if the financial plans should fail.
