Oct 12, 2015 (newstodate): The Swedish/British carrier West Atlantic has now taken delivery of its second Boeing 767-200F freighter, placed on Swedish aircraft registry.
The first wide-body freighter was placed with the carrier in April 2015 and has been been placed at Liege Airport, the European hub of TNT that is the ACMI customer for West Atlantic.
Both Boeing 767 freighters are sourced from West Atlantic's partner, the Ohio-based Air Transport Services Group, ATSG, that took a 25 percent stake in the Gothenburg-based West Atlantic Group in December 2013.
On the negative side, West Atlantic has lost its contract with Amapola, the Swedish postal carrier for which West Atlantic has served as sub-contractor on Swedish domestic routes.
With the loss of the contract, five of West Atlantic's 33 BAe ATP-F aircraft have become redundant and may be cannibalized for spares if no new contract is landed.
