Oct 06, 2015 (newstodate): Sukhoi has high sales ambitions for its Superjet 100 aircraft.
According to the company's CEO, expectations are the sale of a total of 595 aircraft until 2031, including 82 in the basic version, 140 in the stretched version up for certification by 2018, 331 in a special long-range version, and 40-423 aircraft in corporate versions.
So far, Sukhoi has booked orders for 343 aircraft, with 65 deliveries of which 60 are now in commercial service.
On the immediate horizon now is the Superjet's entry into the fleets of western airlines, with Greenland Express in the process of signing up for lease of five aircraft starting from 2016, while cityJet is said to be planning the acquisition of up to 15 Superjet 100 aircraft.
Production is running slow, however, with only 17 aircraft fully assembled in 2015, compared to 37 in 2014.
Anyway, production number 100 is now on the assembly line.
