Oct 01, 2015 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport is preparing for a major reconstruction of its 2,515 m runway in 2017.
Considering other options, the decision has been made to suspend all air traffic during the period July 14-August 18, 2017, allowing for a full re-surfacing of the runway.
During the period, traffic will be diverted to the two other airports under Airports of Lithuania's management - Kaunas and Palanga, with Kaunas to bear the brunt of the operations.
