Oct 14, 2015 (newstodate): Greenland Express may be beaten in the race for becoming the first western airline to the provide the break-through in Western Europe for the Superjet 100 aircraft.
On October 13, 2015, the Irish carrier CityJet has announced that it has selected the 98-seat Sukhoi Superjet 100as the aircraft for its fleet renewal and network development program.
An agreement in the form of a LoI has been signed by SCAC, SuperJet International and CityJet Airlines for 15 aircraft plus 10 options, with deliveries scheduled for the first quarter of 2016.
CityJet has agreed to take four aircraft in 2016 with the delivery of an additional 11 throughout 2017.
The airline has also taken options on an additional ten aircraft.
The lessor is still to be announced - and the deal is still in the early stage pending binding signatures to a firm contract. So the "race" is still on...
