Oct 26, 2015 (newstodate): From LoI to deal done: Wideroe is to take over all SAS Ground Handling's activities in Norway except for Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
The LoI was announced in June 2015 and the deal will become effective from February 1, 2016, comprising handling services at 14 Norwegian airports.
By this move, Wideroe Ground Handling will become the largest airport handling provider in Norway, and will be managed by Christian Skaug, currently serving as Wideroe's Deputy COO Since January 2011 and with Wideroe since 2004.
All today's about 1,500 SGH staff in Norway, equipment and contracts will be transferred to Wideroe Ground Handling that is today employing some 220 staff at 29 airports in Norway.
