Oct 09, 2015 (newstodate): The leading Danish logistics company DSV has finally found a venue for continued expansion through full acquisition of the US company UTi Worldwide.
UTi, established in 1926 is an industry-leading, non-asset-based supply chain management company with a global footprint of 310 offices manned and 230 logistics centers with 21,000 staff in 59 countries.
UTi offers complete supply chain services and solutions, including air, ocean, distribution, customs brokerage, and contract logistics, capable of providing demand chain services globally.
In a Nordic context, UTi is present under own name in Sweden, represented by Greencarrier in Denmark and Norway, and by Nordic Consolidators in Finland.
When the two companies are fully merged, DSV expects to doubly its turnover through the acquisition, with 61 percent of the turnover coming from Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, 17 percent from N & S America, 16 percent from Asia, and six percent from Sub-Saharan Africa.
