Jan 14, 2015 (newstodate): Norwegian media abound in speculations, mostly negative, over whether plans for a new US-Norwegian airline project, Viking International Airlines, will materialize or not.
-As a navy seal I never give up. After all, we have invested years of efforts and much money in this project that is still very much on the agenda, says John Kunkle, prime driver behind the project, in a phone talk with newstodate.
-We are certainly proceeding with our efforts, and our business plan also remains unchanged, calling for establishing flights between Norway, USA and Asian destinations with both passengers and cargo. Our people in Norway and Finland are doing a great job to get this airborne and current estimates are that we will be in the air during H1, probably by end of Q2, in 2015.
-We have admittedly run into delays as new investors have been called in, but also due to a personal medical urgency grounding me for a period. We are now in the process of identifying suitable aircraft, but all in all I cannot unfortunately come up with a final start-up date yet, says Mr Kunkle.
