Jan 28, 2015 (newstodate): Uzbekistan Airways is planning for opening of new freighter routes from its cargo hub at Navoi.
New to come in 2015 will be regular scheduled freighter flights from the start of the coming summer schedule to Amsterdam, Shanghai, Mumbai and Guangzhou.
The expansion is based on the introduction of two converted Boeing 767-300ER passenger aircraft, the first of which has been delivered in December 2014 and is already in commercial service.
The two aircraft will be deployed on 13 weekly rotations to destinations including Frankfurt, Dubai, Tianjin, and New Delhi.
In August 2010, the airport commissioned a new cargo terminal with an annual capacity of handling up to 100,000 tonnes and providing a vital element in the plan to set up an international logistics center at Navoi as contained in the MoU between Uzbekistan Airways and Korean Air, signed in February 2008.
At Navoi, shipments are transferred between Korean and Uzbekistan Airways.
