Jan 22, 2015 (newstodate): After a lengthy absence, Scandinavia's SAS is planning a return of services to Latia from this coming summer schedule.
Starting from March 29, 2015, the carrier will be offering flights between Stockholm and Riga with three daily rotations on the route using ATR 72 aircraft from its capacity provider, Jet Time.
SAS ceased own flights to Latvia in 2008, and since then SAS and airBaltic have been code-sharing on airBaltic's flights between Latvia and destinations in Scandinavia.
SAS will face stiff competition from two other operators on the route - airBaltic with currently three, from the new schedule four daily rotations, and Norwegian offering three weekly flights.
