Jan 21, 2015 (newstodate): Lithuania's Vilnius Airport was hit hard in cargo volumes after the full effect from the western sanctions on the Russian market gained momentum.
After months with sustained increase in cargo in 2014, a steady decline was seen from September causing the full-year cargo to drop by 2.8 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 8,023 tonnes including 1,607 tonnes of mail and 6,417 tonnes of cargo.
In December 2014 alone, the total volumes were down 27.5 percent, y-o-y, to a mere 776 tonnes.
