Jan 09, 2015 (newstodate): Plans for as second international carrier in Belarus have been abandoned due to the decline in economy and low demand for air travel.
The Belarus state had intended to set up a new carrier to bring in competition to the only existing carrier, Belavia, and the new airline should have lifted off on its first commercial flight in Q1, 2016.
If realized, the new carrier would have a fleet of four Superjet 100 aircraft bought by the Belarus state, and the route network would comprise flights to destinations in Russia.
