Jan 23, 2014 (newstodate): ATC Aviation Services is covering the three Scandinavian markets and Finland from its office in Denmark, primarily serving off-line carriers.
-Our airline customers are Etihad, Air Tahiti Nui, SRX Silk Road Express, Camair-CO and Avianca Cargo that are all off-line in this region, as well as Pegasus that is on-line with flights between Turkey, Denmark and Sweden, says Peter Pedersen, ATC Aviation Services Manager Scandinavia.
-While Pegasus thus operates into our region, cargo capacity is, however, limited on the flights that are focused on passenger services while the Boeing 737 aircraft used on the route offer limited cargo capacity beyond passenger luggage.
-Etihad is clearly our largest customer offering wide options for transit cargo via Abu Dhabi to destinations on its global network. In the Scandinavian markets Etihad shipments are trucked to Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam for uplift.
-In recent years, Norway was the largest market for Etihad in this region thanks to the Norwegian seafood exports. But now, Denmark is actually taking the leading position with shipments from various industries, notably pharmaceuticals.
-Our other off-line airlines contribute to our portfolio by offering access to special markets in South America, Africa and the Pacific region. Volumes sold in Scandinavia on these carriers are, of course, not large, but they are important in ad-hoc sales with attractive rates compared to most other segments, says Mr Pedersen.
