Jan 14, 2015 (newstodate): The Icelandic LCC WOW Air seems to be doing great also in the airfreight business.
The carrier has outsourced its home market cargo sales to the Icelandic cargo GSSA Cargo Express that is also taking care of incoming shipments on WOW Air's flights to Iceland.
-In 2014 we have seen a strong growth at WOW Air, with volumes up over 30 percent, says Robert Tomasson, Cargo Express Managing Director & owner.
-We expect this to rise further, and even stronger, in 2015 as the carrier is to launch its long-awaited new routes to the USA, with flights to Boston from March 27, 2015, and to Baltimore from June 4, 2015.
-Already today we ship significant volumes from Iceland to the USA, carried by WOW Air to Copenhagen and from there onwards on flights by Norwegian, as well as via the UK.
-The market is clearly eager to have an alternative to Icelandair Cargo that of course still plays a strong role in this market, says Mr Tomasson.
