Jan 28, 2015 (newstodate): Icelandair is looking ahead to a busy summer 2015 with more flights, compared to last year's summer schedule.
The new summer schedule will require a fleet of 24 Boeing 757-200 aircraft, one more than earlier envisaged, and with this fleet frequencies will increase on flights from Iceland to Seattle, Vancouver, New York Newark, London Gatwick, Paris, Amsterdam and Zurich.
The carrier's estimate for 2015 passenger volumes have also been revised accordingly, from 2.9 to three mio passengers.
Looking ahead, the carrier is already now planning for new routes during the winter 2015/16 schedule as well as an extension by three months of services to Minneapolis earlier slated to stop by October 2015.
