Jan 19, 2015 (newstodate): Plans for implementation of IATA's e-AWB is now including also the three Baltic markets.
A workshop was arranged in Tallinn, Estonia, last week, and this week similar activities will be arranged in Riga, Latvia, and Vilnius, Lithuania.
The processes will be driven by Finnair in Estonia, by airBaltic in Latvia and by Lufthansa in Lithuania in the role as lead carriers, and April 1, 2015, has been set as the launch date for e-AWB in the three markets.
-The Estonian market is ready to move, some issues still remain with the Customs in Latvia and Lithuania, but this will soon be overcome, says Ulla Nilson, IATA Manager Campaigns, based at Stockholm.
