Jan 06, 2015 (newstodate): Armenia's hope for a rekindled national carrier, Air Armenia seems to have regained its breath after a suspension of services due to lack of financial strength to cover debts.
Coming in with fresh capital is Ukraine's East Prospect Fund that is to acquire 49 percent of the stake in the carrier.
The investment fund itself is keen to see this not just as an acquisition but as a partnership and promises to inject more capital in a second round to see the carrier developing.
Air Armenia is now planning for a resumption of service from April 2015 after having suspended all flights from October 29, 2014.
Hopes are now to revive the lease of two Airbus A320 aircraft that were taken back by its owner due to lack of payments of leasing rates.
