Jan 12, 2015 (newstodate): Due to slack demand in the market, Finnair is suspending flights from Helsinki to three of its six destinations in Russia.
From February 1 till April 22, 2015, the carrier will lay down operation on flights to Nizhniy Novgorod, Samara and Kazan, with plans for a restart of services from April 23, 2015.
When, and if, flights resume, the carrier will offer three rotations per week on all three routes - but on condition that the market has improved by then.
If not, flights will be further suspended.
Finnair normally operates scheduled flights from Helsinki to Moscow, St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Kazan, all served with Embraer E190 aircraft operated on behalf of Finnair by Flybe Finland.
Flights to Kazan were added only on August 18, 2014 with three weekly rotations.
