Jan 15, 2015 (newstodate): A rise in international mail volumes saved Finland's total cargo from dipping even further than the decline by 0.7 percent, y-o-y, reported by Finavia.
A total of 188,872 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled during January-December 2014, including 175,341 tonnes of international cargo that was down 2.4 percent, y-o-y.
Domestic cargo and mail was down by 10.6 percent to 2,545 tonnes, and international cargo and mail dropped 0.5 percent to 186,327 tonnes.
International mail volumes alone saw an increase in 2014 by 42.4 percent, to 10,986 tonnes, reflecting the rise in Finnish consumers' e-trade.
