Jan 08, 2015 (newstodate): Finnair noted a slight increase in cargo volumes in 2014 by 1.7 percent, to a total of 49,141 tonnes.
The dominant Asian traffic grew by 1.2 percent to 82,063 tonnes, while the European traffic was up 1.8 percent to 23,949 tonnes.
Traffic on the North American market was, however, down 0.5 percent to 7,646 tonnes.
Overall, cargo loads on Finnair passenger flights was up 1.2 percent to 115,471 tonnes, while cargo on freighter flights increased 3.6 percent to 33,670 tonnes during the year.
In December 2014 alone, the company transported a total of 11,318 tonnes which was a decline by 3.8 percent, y-o-y.
In December, loads on Finnair scheduled passenger flights were up 1.5 percent to 9,129 tonnes, while loads on freighters were down 20.9 percent to 2,188 tonnes.
And with the end of December, Finnair Cargo has stopped all freighter operations, ending the freighter flights between Helsinki and Hong Kong.
