Sep 22, 2014 (newstodate): According to official Swedavia statistics, cargo volumes are rising steeply in 2014 at Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
In the first eight months of this year, the airport thus handled a total of 42,821 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 29.2 percent, y-o-y.
Month by month, cargo volumes in 2014 have been larger than in 2013, with an increase by 41 percent, y-o-y, in August 2014 alone.
Swedavia's statistics thus paint a much rosier picture of the development than IATA's CASS figures that see IATA cargo volumes down in 2014, indicating that non-IATA cargo and charters are growing.
