Sep 11, 2014 (newstodate): Usually tight-lipped, the Danish cargo carrier Star Air, owned by the Danish A.P. Moller Maersk Group, now confirms its continued cooperation with UPS.
2014 marked the expiry of the existing contract between Star Air and UPS, and the contract was put up for a tender process.
For years, the carrier has been dedicated to serving UPS with its fleet of Boeing 767-200 converted freighter aircraft leases from GECAS.
-I can confirm that we are flying for UPS and have just secured the renewal of our contract for another 10-year period, says Soren Graversen, Star Air CEO.
In 2005, Star Air replaced its former fleet of Boeing 757-200 converted freighters with a total of 11 Boeing 767-200 aircraft, adding a 12th aircraft in spring 2014.
All aircraft are now to be repainted with a fresh color scheme at Amsterdam.
