Sep 12, 2014 (newstodate): The Armenian passenger and cargo carrier Air Armenia has run into troubles in Russia.
The Russian airnav provider has announced that it will bar Air Armenia's access to Russian air space from September 21, 2014, forcing the carrier to stop twice-daily services on its route between Yerevan and Moscow as well as flights to St Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod.
The reason: Air Armenia has amassed a debts pile with the Russian provider that will only release its ban on the carrier when all debts have been cleared.
Air Armenia operates a fleet comprising three Airbus A320 Family aircraft and one Boeing 737-500.
