Sep 17, 2014 (newstodate): Flight services between Russia and Georgia have now been normalized after a lengthy abrogation.
The air services were suspended in 2008 after the military conflicts between the two states ending in the cessation of the Georgian provinces of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
Since September 15, 2014, the air space has been reopened for commercial air services, and Russia has designated Aeroflot, VIM-Avia, Globe, S7, Transaero, Ural Airlines and UTair to serving the routes with passenger and cargo traffic between Tbilisi and Moscow.
