Sep 30, 2014 (newstodate): Aircraft from the Russian carrier Yamal Airlines will be frequent guests at Vilnius and Kaunas in Lithuania from 2015.
The carrier has signed a contract for MRO services with the Lithuanian provider FL Technics with hangar facilities at the two airports, where Yamal Airlines' Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft will receive base maintenance services.
Under the contract, FL Technics will provide Russian carrier Yamal Airlines with C- and D-checks, NDT and borescope inspections, technical defect rectification, structure inspection and repairs, spare parts supply and other services.
With hubs in Salekhard, Roshchino and Moscow Domodedovo airports, Yamal Airlines operates Airbus seven A320-200, nine Boeing 737-400/500, nine Bombardier CRJ 200, and one Challenger 850 flying to over 40 domestic and international destinations.
The carrier is also to take delivery of a further two Airbus A321, two Boeing 737, five Bombardier CRJ 200 and 10 Superjet 100 aircraft.
