Sep 01, 2014 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo holds a strong position in the four small Central European markets of Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Romania as to IATA export cargo.
In July 2014 the carrier ranked #1 in three of four markets, with Poland as the only exception, coming in second here after the national carrier LOT.
In Hungary, Lufthansa Cargo generated 775 tonnes of cargo in July, a market share at 35.76 percent, but down 17.56 percent, y-o-y.
In the Czech Republic Lufthansa Cargo generated 530 tonnes, down 9.35 percent but with a market share at 23.39 percent.
Poland saw #2, Lufthansa Cargo taking 433 tonnes, up 7.3 percent and holding 22.74 percent of the market, while finally, in Romania Lufthansa Cargo accounted for 400 tonnes, up 64.25 percent and holding 61.41 percent of the market.
With a growth by 41.89 percent, y-o-y, Romania was the only market to increase in July 2014, to 651 tonnes.
The Hungarian market was down 2.5 percent to 2,168 tonnes, in the Czech Republic volumes dropped by 3,06 percent to 2,174 tonnes, while in Poland the market was slightly down by 0.02 percent to 1,905 tonnes of IATA export cargo.
