Sep 26, 2014 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo is one of several airlines to change cargo handling partners WFS at Copenhagen Airport from October 2014.
-The decision is of course not ours, but a result of the acquisition by WFS of Swissport at Copenhagen Airport taking effect from October 1, 2014, says Michael Schoop, Lufthansa Cargo country manager Denmark.
-We have been quite satisfied with our time at Swissport but are now looking forward to working with our new partner here.
-I might actually expect that we could see some benefits from the change as we will be one of the few carriers with daily shipments at WFS' Terminal 3 otherwise dominated by handling of freighters during the weekends. This could mean that there will be a healthy focus on our shipments and sufficient staff to our handling.
-We are basically satisfied with Lufthansa Cargo's performance so far into 2014, with volumes in the Danish market up 2-3 percent, y-o-y, in line with the general trend in the market, and actually above average in some of the months.
-In addition, I expect our volumes to rise further during Q4 as we are now seeing indications of an improvement in the market after a rather depressed period, says Mr Schoop.
