Sep 11, 2014 (newstodate): According to Icelandic media, the country's low-cost carrier WOW Air is again putting plans for Transatlantic flights on the agenda.
Starting from Spring 2015, the carrier will launch flights from Keflavik to Boston, in the USA, building on plans to acquire two Airbus A321 aircraft on a lease contract and operated on its own AOC.
WOW Air already planned to launch flights to Boston in spring 2014 but run into troubles and legal fights over slots at Keflavik Airport.
The expansion of the business will require fresh investors to infuse capital into WOW Air, and the carrier's owner and CEO, Skuli Mogenson does not rule out a new partner in the venture.
Launching flights on June 1, 2012, WOW Air was established by Skuli Mogensen and in October 2012, WOW Air took over its long-established competitor Iceland Express through an outright acquisition.
