Sep 01, 2014 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport saw positive growth returning in August.
A total of 5,995 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, which was an increase by 11 percent, y-o-y, making August the best month so far in 2014.
The increase was solely due to growth in export volumes that were up a hefty 30.6 percent to 3,944 tonnes while imports continued to lag behind with a decline by 14 percent to 2,051 tonnes.
After July 2014, the airport's total volumes of cargo reached 41,748 tonnes during the year, a tiny growth of 0.1 percent, y-o-y, including 15,943 tonnes of imports, down 13.5 percent, and 25,805 tonnes of export cargo that was up by 10.9 percent, y-o-y.
