Well, nor exactly new: Magnetic MRO is now the brand name of Air Maintenance Estonia, AME that purports to provide Total Technical Care MRO solutions for airlines, asset owners and distribution partners, develop a wide range of MRO services and capabilities, and expand operational geographies.
Originally, AME was Air Maintenance Estonia A/S, set up in 1991 and acquired by the Danish carrier Maersk Air in 2002 before being taken over by SAS in 2003. SAS later sold its stake in the company in 2010 to a Baltic investment group, BaltCap.
Today, Magnetic MRO is managed by Jonas Butautis as CEO since August 1, 2014.
Magnetic MRO operates under EASA Part 145 and Part 21 certificates with five narrow-body bays heavy and line maintenance hangars in Tallinn, Estonia, warehouses in Shannon, Ireland and multiple operating offices across Europe.
