Sep 18, 2014 (newstodate): The Danish carrier DAT has now sold the second of three ATR 42-500 aircraft acquired in 2012.
The three aircraft were formerly owned by Cimber Sterling that went bankrupt as its owner Ukrainian Aviation Group, controlled by Igor Kolomoyskyi's Privat Group, pulled the plug under both it and another Scandinavian carrier Skyways in 2012.
After buying the three aircraft, DAT has invested in bringing them back to standards through a costly and time-consuming maintenance effort and sold the first aircraft to a US leasing firm that has also now acquired the second aircraft.
DAT is to keep the last remaining ex-Cimber Sterling ATR 42-500 to be placed on a leasing contract with Estonian Air for use on this carrier's new route between Tallinn and Stockholm Bromma Airport from September 29, 2014.
